SUMMARY: POST GRAD is the story of success driven recent graduate Ryden suddenly having her post graduate plans unravel. With an uneven script and not much to recommend in the way of directing, POST GRAD stumbles along amid plenty of foul language, so extreme caution is advised.
IN BRIEF:
POST GRAD is the story of Rydan, a success-driven recent graduate Ryden suddenly having her post graduate plans unravel. Ryden does not land her dream job and must move back home with her quirky family. She struggles to find a job while her father tries to get her involved in one harebrained scheme after another. Ryden's best friend, Adam, longs to be more than friends with Ryden, but she won't reciprocate. She's more enamored with her next-door neighbor. Will she ever realize that Adam is the man for her?
POST GRAD holds together as a movie only because of Alexis Bledel's performance as Ryden. She is charming and fun. The story is weak, however, resulting in Michael Keaton and Carol Burnett doing unfunny things and saying unfunny dialogue. The directing is average, with very little to recommend. Regrettably, the movie contains plenty of foul language. Also, Ryden and the next-door neighbor, in the throes of passion, start to disrobe in order to be sexual, but they are interrupted. The movie does show that family and relationships are more valuable than success in business. Otherwise, POST GRAD must be approached with caution.
