SUMMARY: ALIENS IN THE ATTIC is the story of two families visiting their vacation home, which is invaded by aliens, but only the teenagers can save the day and the planet. With lots of fun action, this very family-friendly movie has some slapstick violence and two profanities, but otherwise is a good film for the whole family.
IN BRIEF:
ALIENS IN THE ATTIC is about two families visiting their vacation home, which is invaded by aliens, but only the children can save the day. Two adult brothers, Stu and Nate, bring their families together for a fishing vacation. Five knee-high aliens arrive to unearth a hidden device that will enable them to take over the world. The device is buried beneath the vacation house. The aliens are able to shoot a dart into an adult and control them with a remote control, like in a video game. However, the darts don't affect anyone under 18; they only affect adults. This leaves the group of children and teenagers to defeat the mean aliens.
Despite a couple profanities, ALIENS IN THE ATTIC is a charming, delightful movie for the whole family. Although the children initially talk back to their parents, this problem is rebuked and later resolved. In fact, the children learn valuable lessons. One of the boys, Tom, learns it's okay to be a math wiz, even if that doesn't make him cool with other children at school. His big sister, Bethany, learns that having a boyfriend is not as important as family.
